Masters student Emma Nero debuted in the 60m hurdles this weekend at the Sharon Anderson Memorial. In the preliminary round Emma blew past her competition in a clean run clocking in at 8.75 seconds. She returned for the 60m Hurdle final where she easily won the race over the rest of the field being the only athlete to run under 9 seconds. Emma's time of 8.75 earns her the 3rd fastest in Waterloo history and 4th fastest in the Nation. A 2018 U SPORTS medalist, Nero is gunning for the UW record and gold at the OUA & U SPORTS Championships later in the season.
