Lukas Wormald (Kitchener, Ont.) was outstanding in his rookie performance at the OUA Swimming Championship, coming away with three medals (2 gold, 1 bronze) to lead his men’s team to a team silver, their best finish in over 30 years. On Day 1, Wormald earned a gold medal in the 400 individual medley, blowing away the competition in a time of 4:23.57. On Day 3, Wormald collected two more medals including a gold in the 200m IM and bronze in the 200m medley relay. For his efforts, Wormald earned OUA male rookie of the year and was the winner of the Dr. Jeno Tihanyi Individual Medley Excellence Award.
