Jörg Ahne (Merseburg, Germany) had a very busy and accomplished weekend at the U SPORTS Championship, including top spot on the podium in the long jump event for the second straight year. After faulting on his first two jumps, Ahne had all the pressure on him on his third jump and he delivered with a distance of 7.10m to advance to the finals. In the finals, Ahne leapt to a distance of 7.43m (24cm further than any other competitor) on his final attempt to secure the gold medal while successfully defending his title. Ahne also helped his team finish seventh in the 4x200m relay and 12^th in the 4x400m relay.
