Simon Petrov (Waterloo, Ont.) put his team on his back in a gutsy performance on Friday night against cross-town rival Laurier. Petrov put up a career high 30 points in an 85-74 Battle of Waterloo victory over the Golden Hawks. Petrov went 11-for-23 from the field while hitting seven from the free throw line. It was a crucial victory for the men’s basketball team to draw even with the Hawks (both at 3-7) in the OUA west standings.
