Jeorg Ahne (Merseburg, Germany) collected two gold medals in two different meets while qualifying for the CIS Championships in long jump this past weekend.  At the Hal Brown Last Chance meet, Ahne aided the men’s 4x200m team to a time of 1:31.12 for a season’s best time and gold medal while ranking 10th in the country.  The following day Ahne soared to a distance of 7.24m in the long jump event at the Guelph Last Chance meet to break a 44 year old Waterloo record and earn the gold medal.  His jump has him ranked second in the CIS and automatically qualified him for the CIS Championships in March.
