The 1978-79 Warrior Swim team won the CIAU Swimming and Diving Championship for the third consecutive year. The Warriors won with a total of 304 points. Second place and runner up was the University of Toronto with a total of 285 points. The Championships were held in Montreal at McGill University.

The Warriors were inducted into the University of Waterloo Hall of Fame on November 9, 1996 in the Team Category.
