Luke Snider named interim head coach of women’s volleyball program

The Department of Athletics is pleased to announce Luke Snider as the interim head coach of the women's volleyball program.  Snider is no stranger to Ontario University Athletics (OUA) women's volleyball scene spending five seasons across the street with the Laurier Golden Hawks and the last two seasons assisting the men's program.  Snider also coached team Ontario for four seasons.

Snider is a level three certified coach who brings a wealth of experience to the team.  His team-first approach and winning attitude will give the women's volleyball program a redefined look going into the 2013-14 season.

"We are very pleased to secure the services of Luke as our interim head coach." mentioned Associate Director Christine Stapleton.  "He has extensive experience with high performance women's volleyball and will ensure our student-athletes progress and develop into a contending OUA team."

Snider has also had abundant success as a player.  He was the libero on the Canadian National team from 2001-2006 and won a Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) Championship with the Alberta Golden Bears in 2002.

Snider's looking forward to joining the Warriors and making an immediate impact as bench boss.

"Having coached in the OUA for five seasons I hope to have less of a learning curve allowing more time to focus on the team," commented Snider.  "I am looking forward to making the Warriors a perennial contender in the OUA, matching the success that men's program has enjoyed the past couple seasons."

Snider's duties begin immediately.
