Micaala Seth captures gold at 2013 University/College Squash Championship

This weekend, several Warrior Varsity Squash players competed at the 2013 Canadian University and College Squash Championships.  Overall, the Warriors brought home 2 gold medals (+ a trophy), 1 silver medal, and 1 bronze medal. The Waterloo squash team showed Canada what kind of talent is at the University.
 
RESULTS
  • Cameron Seth (Fergus/) earned Silver in the Men's Open after losing 3-1 to Graeme Schnell (5 time reigning champ) in the finals. On the way to the finals, Cam beat Riyan Bhatia 3-0 (first round), Morgan Latramoullie 3-2 (quarter) and Albert Shoihet 3-2 (semi). 
  • Micaala Seth (Fergus/) earned Gold in the Women's Open after beating Jaycee Spagrud 3-0 in the finals. On the way to the finals, she beat Mable Low 3-0 (first round), Chrissie Arnold 3-0 (quarters), and Sarah Hall 3-0 (semi).
  • Gerald Gayowsky (Mississauga/) earned Bronze in the Men's A after beating Chad Hinchey 3-1 in the 3/4 final. Gerald beat Even Garfinkel 3-0 (first round), Jon Kent 3-2 (quarters), and lost to Hayden Askanese 3-0 (semi).
  • Myriam Carle earned Gold in the Womens D. In the round robin, she beat Rebecca Stephens-Wells 3-0, Rupangi Mehta 3-2, Ongelle-Lise Burnett 3-0, and Nardin Samuel by default. She only lost to Christina Chow 3-1. The final score came down to 1 piont and Myriam won Gold! 
  • Natasha Seth (Fergus/) earned 7th in the Women's Open overall. She beat Deirdre Bradd 3-0 (first round) and then lost to Erin Roberts 3-0 (16-14, 11-4, 15-13 quarters). In the cons, Natasha lost to Holly Delavigne 3-1 and then in the 7/8 final, Natasha beat Heather Lamb 3-2!
  • Rohan Sovig (Markham/) earned 6th place in the Men's A overall. He beat Kevin Hu 3-1 (first round), then beat Alex Cormier 3-2 (second round), then lost to Chad Hinchey 3-1 (quarters). In the cons, Rohan beat Craig Langford (Thorndale/) 3-1, but lost to Ryan Rogers in the 5/6 final 3-1.
  • Keeley Levitt (St. Catharines/) placed 4th in the Women's A overall. She lost 3-0 to Jaycee Spagrud (first round). Then Keeley beat Deirdre Bradd 3-2 (first round A), then she lost 3-2 to Juana Chaves (semi). In the women's A 3/4 final, Keeley lost to Poojah Chugh 3-0.
  • Craig Langford (Thorndale/) tied for 7th in the Men's A overall. Craig beat Gokul Metta 3-0 (first round) then lost to Hayden Ashkanese 3-0 (quarters). In the cons, Craig lost to Rohan Sovig (Markham/) 3-1.
